by Xandra Martin Visit Date:January 2, 2012 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "I made reservations for the hotel online. Everything about the hotel appeared to be satisfactory. On my arrival at 5am saturday morning I was told that I could only check in from 8am. I insisted that the receptionist at least cnfirm my reservation. I was told that she was busy doing admin and that I hould take a seat. After travelling for so long I did not feel like sitting down anymore. i stood at the desk until she requested my passport. She then the hotel rooms and said that there was one available and that I could have a look. I had to walk up to the fourth floor. On my way up I noticed how delapidated the hotel was, aint was chipping, tiles were peeling off the floor. I was then shown a room with two single beds, no bathroom. The room appeared to be from a horror movie. It seemed as if it hadn t been used in along not time. It was covered in dust. The room did not have a private bathroom either, a communal one had to b used! I refused the room. I went back to reception and looked outside the hotel. On the opposite side was a wall filled with graffitti and an unfinished building, not a pretty sight at all. I decided to walk to the next Sawadee Smile Inn hoping that it would be better - It was not! The room here had a single bed with private shower and toilet the size of a bedroom door and the handbasin was just outside facing a closed window. The room was the size of a single bed with place at the foot end for a television on a table. The airconditioner was to big for the room. You would have had cold air blowing on you all night! Eventhough I paid for the hotel and it was non-refundable I decided not to stay at any Sawadee hotel/inn. It was definitely below expectations. The pictures on the internet are deceiving. I would not recommend a Sawadee hotel to anyone. I stayed at a more reliable hotel that was clean and had the basic necessities for the same price, closer to Khoasan Road. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |
